On Friday, April 11, 2014 the Nebraska Supreme Court unanimously affirmed an award of workers’ compensation benefits for a Marks Clare & Richards LLC client. Matthew Kim was shot multiple times in a revenge attack for reporting a robbery at the Gen X Clothing store that he managed. In addition to serious and life threatening physical injuries, the Supreme Court affirmed the award of psychiatric medical care. Mr. Kim was diagnosed as suffering from PTSD as a result of shooting and threats made against him. Dirk V. Block, Steven J. Riekes, and Kirk Thompson of Marks Clare & Richards LLC tried the case and defended the appeal to the Nebraska Supreme Court.
